A Message from Our Founder
You’re not just looking for a play space. You’re looking for support, community, and peace of mind.
At Maddy’s Playhouse, we’re here to guide you through it.
Hi, I’m Dr. Sarah Kurtz, physical therapist, mother of four, and founder of Maddy’s Playhouse. I created this space out of a deep love for children, a passion for healing, and a desire to help families thrive—not just get through the day.

......AND my sincere welcome to Maddy’s Playhouse!
I grew up in Franklin, TN. I graduated from Brentwood High School with a 4.1 GPA, attended Western Kentucky University and graduated with honors and 4.0 GPA in Exercise Science and minor in Biophysics, and completed my Doctorate in Physical Therapy program with a 3.9 GPA. During my time at WKU I created the Women’s lacrosse sport-clubs team in 2005, and I continued to play lacrosse through graduate school. I have completed two full marathons, one ultramarathon (31 miles for those still keeping score), placed 5th in a natural bodybuilding competition, and hiked Mount Katahdin.
So there’s my stats sheet. But my greatest accomplishment: becoming a mother. My husband and I have a beautiful family that includes 3 amazing children, and a daughter whom we had to say goodbye to - far too soon. Madison.
Maddy’s Playhouse is our daughter’s legacy. My vision is to create a positive environment for all families - including ours - to move, connect, and explore together. Maddy’s Playhouse is a casual space for bonding and fun. What’s more, Maddy’s Playhouse hosts educational opportunities for families.
I have always wanted to apply my professional expertise and passion for learning and helping people, into my own creation. Maddy’s Playhouse is this creation. My goal is to utilize my physical therapy background to educate and support this community’s mothers, fathers, and grandparents. I want to provide education to support healing and strengthen your body postpartum. I want your little ones to have the best environment to explore and develop their bodies and minds. I want to help the community connect.
Through supporting the community, Maddy’s Playhouse will support our family as well. Maddy’s Playhouse is the creation of love, strength, and support. I am excited and ready to share this journey with you.
Dr. Sarah Kurtz, PT, DPT, OCS, CDN
STRENGTH THROUGH SUPPORT
As a physical therapist, I’ve spent years guiding people through the hardest, most vulnerable parts of healing. I don’t just treat pain—I teach, support, and walk alongside my patients as they regain strength and confidence.
Parenting isn’t so different. It’s joyful, exhausting, overwhelming, and beautiful—often all in the same hour. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need the right support, the right environment, and someone to help guide the way.

That’s what Maddy’s Playhouse is.
A place where your child can move, explore, and grow—and where you feel confident, encouraged, and connected.
OUR WHY
At Maddy’s Playhouse, we believe:
Babies and toddlers thrive when they’re given space to move, explore, and play freely.
Parents and grandparents thrive when they feel seen, supported, and connected.
Community matters. Shared moments matter. And healing happens in motion.
Whether you’re here for a class, a quiet coffee, open play, or just a moment to breathe—you belong here.

Move. Connect. Explore.
We’re honored to be part of your family’s journey.
